Spring awakening: One year after 2011 tornadoes

I’ve written extensively about my continuing project in Alabama following up with families affected by the tornadoes that hit last April 27, 2011. Getting to be a part of their world has been an incredibly humbling experience personally and professionally and I’m so blessed to call this work.

After a month of writing and edits, our project chronicling Habitat for Humanity partner families recovering from the storm is finally live. Reading these stories will do nothing but make your heart happy.

There are also families still in great need of assistance. You can visit our affiliate finder page to contact an affected affiliate area to volunteer, or you can also make a donation to Habitat to assist with efforts to build decent, affordable homes.
