Sept. 14: Who can help you?

Right now with Hurricane Florence barreling toward our coast, I’m thinking of all the helpers who stay behind and make sure our first-world problems are taken care of in a matter of days, maybe even minutes. I’m thinking about the grocery shop workers who are expected to stay behind so stores can make sure customers get as many supplies as they need – and yet those workers aren’t given time to shop or evacuate. I’m thinking about the emergency preparedness teams who go out first to make sure everyone is safe. I’m so thankful there are so many people with giving, helping hearts willing to jump in during a disaster and say, “I volunteer.”
